Teton Valley Cabins sponsors Music on Main for the second consecutive summer here in beautiful downtown Victor. Music on Main is a staple of summer tradition in this Idaho town, now eleven years strong. Two summers ago we were approached by the Community Foundation of Teton Valley to become a lodging sponsor for the visiting headliner bands and we were thrilled at the opportunity.   TVC is a local’s place. We want to be in the heart of the community and helping to uphold the traditions and annual events of this valley, all the while supporting the individuals who work so…

Driggs, Idaho Activities: The Great Snowfest of 2016. If you have the chance while visiting, you should really take a stroll downtown and marvel at the snow sculptures that will emerge from the pounded giant cubes that are being presently compacted. They will soon grace the front area of the Driggs Community Center.  The process is incredible. I mean… is it not accomplishment enough to just simply exist and stand out in cold weather? Then you have the crazy “sportster” people, the ones who are driven by the snow and whose eyes start to twinkle at the thought of playing in powdery puff…

What a whirlwind of a holiday season it has been here in Teton Valley and at Teton Valley Cabins! It seems like just yesterday I was taking my kids trick or treating. Winter has come in like a lion!!!! This morning – my children, fresh off the rebound of a stomach bug, were squealing with the glee that only small kids can muster at that hour. They were throwing on their snow suits over bare legs tangled in nightgowns and not thinking about socks as they jammed their feet into boots. Outside, my husband and I were grunting simultaneously as we scraped our windshields. Yes. It is here. I will personally welcome winter, and soon. I usually get into the groove when I hang my season pass for the mountain around my neck  for the…

Seasons change at Teton Valley Cabins and in Teton Valley. Our beautiful Indian Summer is gone. So are the golden leaves on the quaking aspens for that matter.  There will be no more hikes to Table Mountain in 2015 and the hot lazy evenings of having a cocktail in the grass of the Knotty Pine are also in our  rear view mirror. For the past few weeks, we wake up in the morning to a thick frost and within a week, any moisture or rain we get will fall to the ground in precious flakes that are as valuable as gold in…

Teton Valley Cabins knows a good party when we host one! Just yesterday, an owner hosted a an outdoor party for friends, colleagues, and employees. The open and inviting spaces of our lodge offered something for everyone. There were options for volleyball, horsheoes, cornhole- even a soak in the jacuzzi. The party was a potluck and started early. Perhaps what made it quite unique was that a whole lamb was roasted  (A classic Argentine asado) as the main entrée and arced over a fire for close to 9 hours. After the sun went down, and clear and starry skies dominated overhead,…
