Teton Valley Activities: Music on Main: This past week, the Teton Valley Foundation announced its Summer 2015 lineup. This summer also marks the incredible milestone of the 10th Anniversary.  The Teton Valley Foundation has reached a place where we can consistently book incredible bands because people WANT to play here despite our nonprofit budget.   It’s also because our talent booker Pete from Toasted Buffalo Productions  works his magic thanks to his deep industry connections and steadfast support of our mission.  The end result is that we will continue to host incredible bands. This season boasts one of our most diverse collections of music yet from Southern Rock, to Americana, to New Orleans Brass (with a twist of hiphop),…

Winter has come in like a lion!!!! Just six short days ago, I was vigorously planting fall bulbs in my flower beds, smiling as I knew I was just in time, meeting the deadline prior to the ground freezing. A new gateway for cabins near Grand Teton National Park has been erected and looks protectively over our lovely little spot here in Teton Valley. On Monday, June 9th, the entryway into the cozy and welcoming Teton Valley Cabins was replaced with new sturdy, strong and profound  pine logs to mark the entry to our hotel. The proprietors of Teton Valley Cabins have known for  a few years that the beloved and familiar entryway beaming with “loud” charisma needed to be replaced, but they wanted to preserve it’s towering presence, because it has become so familiar to loyal repeat visitors.  Guests knew…

Leon “Slim” Weston. A Grand Targhee legend will be greatly missed. The famous backrubs and comforting smile he gave in lift lines cannot ever be replaced. On February 11, Teton Valley lost a friend and an icon. He knew no strangers and made friends with every face who met him at the chairlift. Slim devoted 45 winters to Grand Targhee with impeccable work ethic, contagious energy, and a happy demeanor that could not be ignored.  Weston was diagnosed with bladder cancer in 2011 and fought courageously for years, even working at the mountain a few days on the very week he passed. …
