Snowmobiling in and around Teton Valley

Snowmobiling in the Big Hole Mountains

The Big Hole Mountains border Teton Valley, Idaho on the west. An area used by ATVs and horseback riding pack trips in the summer, winter in these mountains is one of the best times of year to visit. Chances are you may not run into anyone else. Just a few miles from Teton Valley Cabins, the trail heads for many canyons that access the Big Hole Mountains are easy to find. Make sure to check in with the Caribou-Targhee National Forest Service Office just south of the Driggs city stop light for permits and maps.

Snowmobiling Yellowstone (90 miles north of Driggs)

Experience Yellowstone in the heart of winter by snowmobile. Groomed trails lead the way through the park atop summer driving roads. Although you are restricted to these designated areas, the 200 miles of trails through the park offer beautiful vistas, wildlife sightings, and a chance to see the country's most popular National Park without all the summer crowds. West Yellowstone is a great starting point for snowmobilers who want to explore the park as well as its surroundings. Trails like the Big Sky Trail, Lionshead Trail, South Plateau Loop, Horse Butte Loop, and The Continental Divide Trail are just a few of the back country and groomed trails in the West Yellowstone area.

Snowmobiling Island Park

Island Park is a little over an hours drive north of Driggs. Island Park is a great alternative for snowmobiling in the area because of its majestic terrain, lack of crowds, powdery snow fields, and over 500 miles of groomed trails.

Teton Valley Adventures rents Snowmobiles in the winter and ATV's in the summer. They offer guided tours just north of Driggs in fantastic terrain.
