When you stay at  Teton Valley Cabins, you are only 5 miles from the trailhead whose parking lot has a hovering Grand Teton Peak looming overhead. The Teton Canyon trail is on U.S. Forest Service land. This trail is the first to be groomed in the fall and the last to be groomed in the spring.       If you are visiting Teton Valley at the end of April,  mark on your list of Driggs Idaho activities: Grand Targhee exciting season finale. Our local mountain chose to host a post-season event as a capstone to the end of the regular 2013-2014 winter season.       If you are visiting Teton Valley in April,  mark on your list of Driggs Idaho activities: Grand Targhee Cardboard Box Derby.  For fourteen years, kids and “grown-up kids” have enjoyed participating in this creative tradition. Since 2000, Grand Targhee – arguably the most family-friendly ski resort in west has hosted the fun and exciting cardboard box derby on closing weekend. That was until now.   Grand Targhee skiing has begun!  Teton Valley Cabins is thrilled to hosts avid skiers and snowboarders again, flocking to Grand Targhee for the inaugural day of the mountain’s 45th season.  Grand Targhee is proud to report that ample snowfall has allowed all lifts to be open! This includes Dreamcatcher, Blackfoot, Sacajawea, Shoshone and Papoose. Operating hours for the mountain will be 9:00 am  – 4:00 pm.
