SUMMARY:1st Annual Grand Targhee Snowmobile Hillclimb
DESCRIPTION:Come stay at Teton Valley Cabins and enjoy the Grand Targhee Snowmobile Hillclimb! \nThe Skyliners Motor Club has teamed up with Grand Targhee Resort to bring a two-day snowmobile hill climb event to the slopes of the resort this spring. The race will be sanctioned by the Rocky Mountain Snowmobile Hill Climb Association {RMSHA} and the inaugural competition could become an annual event in the valley. Grand Targhee will close normal winter operations on Sunday\, April 20\, 2014 this season\, and the hill climb event is scheduled for the following weekend\, Saturday\, April 26\, and Sunday\, April 27\, making a bonus weekend for snowmobilers\, spectators\, and skiers alike. Ken Rider\, director of marketing for the resort\, said there are still a lot of details to pull together\, but they are planning on running the Dreamcatcher high-speed quad lift. The racecourse will be setup under Dreamcatcher starting at the base of Targhee. The course will be run on the Sweetwater and Big Thunder trails. Spectators will be able to watch the event from the base area\, the Trap Bar deck\, from the chairlift and skiing along the racecourse. Big screen TVs will also be set up at the base. The course will be built to RMSHA standards and include gates and sections the riders must clear in the fastest time. The event is expected to be a big boost to the local economy.

DESCRIPTION:A team steers its cardboard vessel toward the bottom of the course.\nJoin our sponsors at Grand Targhee Resort for the 14th Annual Spring Cardboard Box Derby. Watch as cardboard artists and mechanics turn little more than cardboard\, paper\, tape\, glue\, and string into the most creative sculptures that you can think of like dragons\, race cars\, UFO’s\, and other themes. \nTest your creativity by constructing a cardboard craft able to swoosh down the ski hill carrying you and your team members. The rules to building your craft are simple: constructed solely of cardboard\, paper\, glue\, tape\, and string. Sponsors names must be printed somewhere on the craft. Complete rules and a release form are available; see download above. \nYour cardboard vehicle may be simple or complex with up to 4 adult (or 6 under 18 yrs of age) pilots to maneuver down the ski hill. Remember the more creative your craft the better your chances for winning. This will be a great way to end the season at Grand Targhee. Group entries are encouraged: bars\, restaurants\, motels\, ski shops\, coworkers\, etc. There will be fun for everyone including music\, outdoor sun tanning\, watching the race and awesome spring skiing
