Summertime at Grand Targhee Resort is a stellar part of the recreation package indeed. If you have experienced only the light powder, “cold” smoke” and bluebird spring days at the ‘Ghee, then you have only seen the first flick of the double feature, indeed. Boasting incredible topography and terrain, summertime welcomes visitors to partake in activities that make up a list about a mile long. You can: stay, eat, ride horses, hike or trail run plenty of vertical, catch a scenic charilift ride to the summit via the Dreamcatcher high speed quad, play disc golf, send your kiddos to kids…

Teton Valley welcomes a Happy New Year. There is high hospitality at Teton Valley Cabins, and a spark of “happy” in the air. Every winter, as the holiday season creeps in and life speeds past those fast and furious three weeks between Thanksgiving and Christmas, special things start to happen in Teton Valley. Summer daylight has faded  – firewood is gathered, it gets cold, ski resorts open and through advertisments, they resonate childlike excitement that rivals any tot’s Christmas morning anticipation –  only in this case, its adults… dreaming of making turns in knee deep white smoke. At Teton Valley…

Teton Valley Cabins clears trees in Driggs Idaho!  Our cozy property was overdue for some old, crusty dead and dying cottonwoods trees to come down. With crisp weather in the air and literally thousands of leaves falling from the limbs to the ground, we had an amazing crew come in to help with the feat.   In just under two days of work, over 20 trees were downed and hauled off. the property looks a tad different, but we were thanksful for such talented equipment operators and arboring crews!! Come visit us this offseason. The perfect time for quiet is …

Teton Valley hosts eclipse visitors at Teton Valley Cabins this weekend! As I sit here and write on Saturday evening, I think I am thinking the same thing that most residents in Wydaho are….is this the calm before the storm?  It seems almost eerily quiet around here. Even less crowded than any given summer day. Has all the hype driven away the masses? It has been conversed for about 18 months, how we will be one of the most intense regions for the one minutes and 41 seconds of scientific history.  Folks have prepared for traffic gridlock, stocked up on…

The top 10 activities in Grand Teton National Park can seem overwhelming…..ly exciting. The good news is you can make it happen. The effort of your planning and smoothing trip logisitcs is done, you might as well get the most bang for your buck. I was lucky enough to grow up in Jackson Hole, just 20 minutes from the entrance gates, so luckily I have had decades to stretch out adventures and fun trips to the park. But I haven’t taken it for granted. I go back for more every summer and I wanted to share my top faves with…

It will be easy to reflect on our beautiful summer season by remembering all of the Teton Valley Wildflowers! With another couple of months before we hopefully embark on a beautiful Fall, we will be lucky enough to spot several varieties even  into the month of September.  There are many species of native wildflowers that grow within a few miles of Teton Valley Cabins, and if you climb in elevation, such as on your way to or  during your time spent at Grand Targhee, you will find a series of other sets who like it more intense –  with tolerances of harsher  wind, temperatures, and sun! …

Summertime live music in Teton Valley, Idaho can be added to your list of the abundance of things to do while you are visiting the quiet side of the Tetons. In other posts, I have written and raved about the free music in Victor on Thursdays at the city park, but this little blurb will be completely dedicated to honoring the fabulous music festivals at Grand Targhee Resort every summer.   The backdrop would not be more impressive if you created it, but the peaks, clean mountain air, the dropping crisp tempertarues at night, food, drinks, and camping options make…
